I stumbled across this interesting sub-category of stock photography... call it furious females of stock photography if you will. It's basically photos of women frustrated with computers and other electronics. A stereotype to be sure, and a not particularly truthful one, it's still interesting to see that this sub-category of stock photography is apparently thriving.

Rockstar Demographic Lens Chart of Photographers. Uncle Bob was aiming for the 2%. He knew he was destined to be a RockStar.
(a little background... in the professional world of wedding photography, we often call the up and coming popular photographers Rockstars, hence the cartoon).
WOW! I was expecting great things from the Fuji Finepix X100, but this is awesome! The X100 beats the Panasonic GH2 and the Canon 60D (and therefore the Canon T2i 550D and Canon 7D as they share the same sensor) for image quality, especially at high ISO!

The ultra cool and hard to get your hands on Fuji X100 just got even harder to get a hold of. Production has been halted due to damage from the Tsunami and Earthquake in Japan. No word yet on when we might see Fuji X100 digital cameras start rolling off the assembly lines again.

A lot of people were disappointed when the Canon 60D came out without AF Micro Adjustment for fine tuning focus on your lenses. The Canon 7D has it. The Nikon D7000 and D700 have it. But is it neccessary? Are we over-doing?

Tampa Florida Senator Jim Norman is trying to pass a bill that would make it illegal to photograph farms. Senator Norman says that cows have an expectation to privacy. Does Norman hate photographers and photography? Has he had a bad experience with a digital camera he hasn't been able to get past?

Of course, his or her name may not actually be Uncle Bob, but we all know someone like him.
That quirky Uncle that always has his camera with him, and always seems to be not working it quite right.
You know the one who made you pose for what seemed like hours when you were a kid so that he could get that "perfect" family photo, and of course that photo never seemed to turn out quite right.
Maybe it's an Aunt, a Grandfather, or a family friend, but most of us know an Uncle Bob character.
So a couple of years ago when I got the idea for a series of photography cartoons, Uncle Bob seemed the perfect character to star in them.
I've put them up here on the Art of the Image Youtube Channel for you to enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know who Uncle Bob reminds you of in your family or circle of friends, and you can change the name or leave it out to make sure you don't offend the person.
Also, if you have any ideas you think would be good for future Uncle Bob cartoons, please feel free to post them in the comments section below too! I welcome your creative assistance. :-)
A slideshow of images shot with the Sigma 120-400mm APO DG OS on my Canon 60D. It was snowing out for most of these, and I found the 60D struggled a little with the focus in the snow.
As far as my impressions so far of the Sigma 120-400mm APO DG OS, it's VERY good! Quite sharp through-out the range, but sharpest from 120 to 300mm. Focus is fast, and I'm really enjoying this lens!
