Hi Matt,
Great intro to the Sigma 85 1.4 lens. Can't wait to see your next report on shooting in the field and some sample images.

I have this lens too - after a week shooting with it, I happily parted with my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 AFD (which had been my favourite lens). This Sigma wins in every category, especially contrast and resistance to flare. AF is quicker too, and sharpness across the frame is noticeably better.
One thing though, my first sample had the "endless focus hunting" problem that a few people have mentioned - would just jerk back and forth continually, and never lock on. Sent it back, and the second sample has been flawless.
I'll be interested to hear your findings.
